Branch Meetings

Our monthly meetings are usually held in the Red Shed, 18 Vicarage Street, Wakefield WF1 1QX. They are open to all Labour Party Members resident in the ward. As well as a general discussion and catch-up, officers report back from the Constituency Labour Party Meeting and other meetings. Meetings begin at 7pm and usually end by 8pm.

Officers are elected at the Annual General Meeting held every summer. They are currently Olivia Rowley (Chair), James Stephenson (Branch Secretary) and Alan Davis (Treasurer).

The Branch also selects the candidate for the Council elections held in 3 out of every 4 years, and members help to run the candidate’s campaign by delivering their manifesto throughout the ward and canvassing electors.

Members may also attend Constituency Labour Party Meetings and help in parliamentary elections by canvassing and delivering leaflets.
