Wakefield South Ward

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council consists of 63 councillors with 3 from each of the 21 wards. Individual members serve for a term of 4 years. Following the May 2024 elections there were 56 Labour, 3 Liberal Democrat, 3 Conservative and 1 Independent member.

Elections are held on a 4-year cycle. In 3 years of the cycle one third of the seats are up for election. Every fourth year there are no District Council elections.

The next District Council elections will take place in 2026. There are no District Council elections in 2025.
